Danny Danger Pro Wrestler

Since 1972 the Shaolin Kung fu Institute has attracted all kinds of students from all walks of life, Millitary, Police Officers, Nurses, Doctors, orther martial artists, you name it. US Commerce Association Award

The Shaolin Kung fu Institute has received an award from the US Commerce Association as the Best Of Local Business 2011. This award has been given to those businesses that have exceeded those standards set forth by this Association. The Shaolin Kung fu Institute has been awared the 2011 Best of Hightstown/Best Of Local Business in Martial Arts Training
Lunar New Year Celebration in New York Chinatown

The Lunar New Year celebration in New York Chinatown will take place on Saturday January 28th. The Shaolin Kung fu Institute will be involved with the celebration which is schedled to start at 11:00am. All participating kung fu schools will follow a set route.
The Shaolin Kung fu Institute starts off on Mott and Hester streets on the Little Italy side. We will then follow our route which will involve all of Chinatown and will then end back on Mott and Hester street around 5:00pm.

The Shaolin Kung fu Institute will be offering several Courses throughout the 2012 year. Sparring I; covers the basic requriements all students need for Erh Duan Yellow Sash and prepares the student for Sparring II. Information on these two course will be released soon and can be veiwed at branch locations. Chin Na I; this course is the basic requirement needed to compete the 7 Courses in Self Defense (Chin Na I, Chin Na II, Legal Implications of Self Defense, Knife Defense I, Knife Defense II, Gun Defense I and Gun Defense II). Chin Na I is a joint locking self defense teaching the student how to counter grabs to the wrist, arm, chest, and back.

The Shaolin Kung fu Institute has been contacted for a private celebration envolving our Lion Dance team. The celebration will be at the Eastonian Hotel in Easton PA on February 11th!
Lunar New Year

The Shaolin Kung fu Institute will be celebrating the Lunar New Year in New York Chinatown on Saturday January 28th. Our start time is 11:00am on Mott Street in Little Italy, we will follow a set route that covers all of Chinatown and ending back in Little Italy at 5:00pm. We will then group up at our main Headquarters in Hightstown NJ for a formal Lunar New Year dinner!
Robbinsville High School

Sifu Rex W. McCoy Ph.D recently hosted the Robbinsville High School Chinese Studies group at the Hightstown HQ of the Shaolin Kung fu Institute. Over 45 students attended the seminar for a lesson in the history of Chinese Kung fu, detailed breakdown of the different styles of kung fu and martial arts in general, Lunar New Year Lion Dancing, and a detailed instruction in the Six Tenets of a True Maritial Art.
The seminar was well received and a question and answer period followed the seminar. Sifu McCoy also talked about the mix up of what is and what is not a martial art, and explained what self defense, sport and combat type styles mean.

Lehigh Valley Sports Extra

Sifu Rex W. McCoy Ph.D has been asked by the editor of the Lehigh Valley Sports Extra, a magazine newspaper featuring sports teams and sports activities around the Lehigh valley, to write an article for submission into their magazine for the month on November. Dr. McCoy will be submitting an article called "The Ancient art of Chinese Kung fu" and will submit around 6 to 12 photos.
Accreditation by State Department of Education

The United States Department of Education has accredited the University of Asian Martial Arts Studies with a 501c3 certification. This means that any degree the University awards is fully recognized as an official degree by the United States Department of Education.
The 501c3 certification is awarded to institutions of higher education; the same accreditation which is given to Schools, Colleges, and Universities.
The accreditation process was started over 50 years ago by Dr. Jim Thomas Sr. and has continued with his son, Dr. Jim Thomas Jr., and Soke's and Grandmasters from around the world.
Martial artist's can now receive officially recognised degree's for the years of hard work and dedication that they have put into their training.
